Little is known about this beatiful and elusive rail. Recently rediscovered in 1998,and after almost 40 years with no records,new sightings and information about it has been showing up. Part of our staff has found the rare Austral Rail in a new locality in the province of Río Negro,Argentina. This finding suggests the possible short migration of this species.
